WOW, it took me a moment but I’ve come to the realization that humble beginnings are the launching pad to Substantial endings. That the building of any legacy started with significant action. That the best plays people have written in the history books and are talking about to this day, would have never come to be had the ball not been snapped. You’ve heard the old folks say, “had Martin, had Rosa, had Harriet...” Had anybody not decided to act on what kept them up at night, ran around in their thoughts during the day, introduced doubt into their mind, and left a deep void in their heart with the mere thought of not doing–where would we be?
You ever read a good scripture and said: “that spoke directly to me!” I did recently when I read James 1:23-25, “23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
I read elsewhere the questions “Why look if you're not going to act on what you see?” “Why look, if you aren't going to remember what you just saw?”
There’s no way I, nor you can run away from that which God has given us the heart, mind, and will to do. Go do...I am and I will.
I said in my last article/post I continue to hear the saying "If not you, who? If not now, when?" I leave you with a slightly different version "If not you, somebody! If not now, never!"
